Ingredients

1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 7-8 pounds)

2 cups apple cider

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup Dijon mustard

1/2 cup honey

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground cloves

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).

Prepare the Ham: Position the ham on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan. Using a sharp knife, score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep. This allows the glaze to penetrate and enhances the flavor.

Make the Glaze: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the apple cider, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, honey, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper. Stir the mixture until the sugar has dissolved and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.

Glaze the Ham: Brush half of the apple cider glaze over the scored ham. Place the ham in the oven and bake for about 1 hour, basting every 20 minutes with the remaining glaze.

Check Temperature: The ham is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C). If needed, bake for an additional 30 minutes, continuing to baste.

Carve and Serve: Once finished, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes. Carve the ham into slices, serve on a platter, and drizzle with any remaining glaze. Garnish with fresh herbs for an aromatic touch.

Enjoy: This sweet and spicy apple cider glazed ham is perfect for holiday gatherings or special occasions—delight your guests with its unique flavor!
