Ingredients

6 medium tart apples (such as Granny Smith), peeled, cored, and sliced

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon salt

1 cup rolled oats

½ cup all-purpose flour

½ cup brown sugar, packed

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional: Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

Prepare the apples: In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt. Toss them well to coat.

Layer the apples: Spread the apple mixture evenly in the greased baking dish. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the apples, ensuring they are well-coated.

Make the oat topping: In another mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, and melted butter. Add the vanilla extract and mix until crumbly.

Spread the topping: Evenly distribute the oat mixture over the caramel-coated apples in the baking dish.

Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.

Finishing touch: Once out of the oven, drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top while it’s still warm.

Serve: Allow the crisp to cool slightly before serving. Pair with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent touch.
