Ingredients

12 large pasta shells

1 lb ground turkey

2 cups fresh spinach, chopped

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

3 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool.

Prepare the filling: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Add minced garlic and chopped spinach; cook until the spinach is wilted. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Mix the filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked turkey and spinach mixture with ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Stuff the shells: Take a cooked pasta shell and stuff it with about 2 tablespoons of the turkey and spinach filling. Repeat with the remaining shells.

Prepare the baking dish: Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange the stuffed shells in a single layer over the sauce.

Add sauce and cheese: Pour the remaining marinara sauce evenly over the stuffed shells. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish and serve: Once out of the oven, let the dish cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
