Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

1/4 cup honey

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh chives or parsley, for garnish

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and Dijon mustard until well combined. Set aside about 1/4 cup of the marinade for later use.

Marinate the Salmon: Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides. Place the fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator (or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor).

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Sear the Salmon: Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once the butter is melted and bubbling, remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down into the skillet. Sear for about 3-4 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.

Bake the Salmon: Flip the salmon fillets over, and then brush with some of the reserved marinade. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

Glaze and Serve: Remove the salmon from the oven and brush it with any remaining marinade. Allow it to rest for a few minutes. Serve the salmon garnished with chopped chives or parsley and lemon wedges on the side.
